Salt in the air, sand in my hair

"The cure for anything is salt water -- sweat, tears, or the sea." -Isak Dinesen

We picked the sea. :) I'm currently vegging out in total vacation mode after a long, wonderful day at the beach with my family.

Not a thought of work is crossing my mind (dreams don't count, right? ugh.), and I'm trying to leave the stress of last week behind me. We leave tomorrow, so I'm just trying to soak up every single second of my time away. The sun, the sand, the breeze off the water. Every wave, every splash, every smile, every squeal of excitement, and every exhausted baby snuggle. And to top it off, every birthday wish for my almost-9-year-old who we're celebrating this weekend.

Life is good.

  1. I'm almost certain the beach can cure almost any woe a person may have.

    1. I just wish we were closer! 2.5 hours isn't bad, but not close enough for a quick day trip to cure some woes immediately. Sigh.

  2. I love that you got to experience the epitome of relaxation (the beach!) right in the middle of all your work stress. I feel ya girl. This is like the most stressful summer I've ever had in terms of how busy I am. Just about getting ready to call it quits in multiple areas right now. The sun and time by water is what's keeping me sane. Hope this week is better for ya!
