Lorelai says

{A Lazy Crazy Life}

{A Lazy Crazy Life}

I know I've missed a bunch, but these are the Lorelai-isms I managed to write down over the past few months since the last post.

Mommy: (pointing to her right foot) Which foot is this?
Lorelai: Um, right!
Mommy: Yes! Which foot is this? (Pointing to left foot)
Lorelai: Left foot!
Mommy:(pointing to right hand) What hand is this?
Lorelai: Ummmm, yellow?
Mommy: No...try again.
Lorelai: Oh! Green!

Mommy: how do you spell your name?
Lorelai: L...E...R-S-T?
Mommy: not quite. LORELAI
Lorelai: Oh. L-O-RST
(And then we did a massive name spelling drill with all of us telling her and quizzing her, and now she can spell it correctly. Aaaand we sometimes still call her Lerst, ha!)

Mommy: Let's brush your teeth, Lorelai.
Lorelai: I'm not Lorelai, I'm a cow!

Lorelai: Ew, what is this, I don't like it!
Teacher: Fruit cocktail. It's got all the fruits you already like, just try it.
Lorelai: Oh! I like fruit cottontail.
(Her teacher was so tickled by this, she had to tell me all about their conversation. I guess Lorelai kept calling it "fruit cottontail" for a while, cracking everyone up.)

Lorelai: Don't stand on your phone, that would be terrible. I'll call the police if you do that. (A friendly warning while I was doing some ab exercises in front of my phone on the floor, ha!)

After I had put Lorelai to bed like I do every night, she gets up and comes into the boys' room.
Lorelai: When am I going to bed?
Mommy: Ummm, now. I just put you to bed a minute ago...
Lorelai: Oh! I'm crazy!

Lorelai: (while watching the Super Bowl) I really don't like football. I like Ariel.

Lorelai: Mommy did I tooted? Smell my butt! (Classy alert--she said tooted instead of farted.)

Lorelai says

{A Lazy Crazy Life}

Lorelai: I need a haircut.
Mommy: What kind of haircut?
Lorelai: A purple haircut!
Aidan: Purple??
Lorelai: What, you like me blondie?

{A Lazy Crazy Life}
Her daycare school pictures. I died from the cute.

Teacher: Lorlelai, why are you being so bossy?
Lorelai: I'm not being bossy, I'm being you!

{A Lazy Crazy Life}

When we still had her tent set up in the living room from her birthday, where she put her mostly deflated birthday balloon: "I can't even deal with that balloon in my tent!"

After I had said earlier that her water bottle smelled funky: "That smells funky funky-licious." It was particularly hilarious because we have never said anything like that (that I know of).

While playing UNO: "I'm freaking out, I don't have any matching cards!"

Pulling up my shirt and grabbing my (squishy) belly: "Mommy, I got your chubby belly." (Guess we should stop saying that to her, huh?)

She frequently answers requests to do something with "okay, sure!"  (When she's not saying no, of course...)

Hallelujah is "Hamma-lujah" and Mike Wazowski inexplicably comes out as "Mouskey Wiper."

{A Lazy Crazy Life}

Love her so much.

Lorelai says

Lorelai, 3 years old.

Shortly before her birthday, I caught her sitting on the potty "talking" on her phone (I told you she does it all the time), asking for presents. "Hi Ms. Kim. Yeah, hi. You gonna get me presents? Grandma, you're getting me presents. Yeah?"

She was holding her potato head toy from the treasure box at school when she fell. She scream-cried "My 'tato broke me! You're a mean boy, 'tato head"

For dinner one night, I took off her shirt since we were having messy spaghetti. While pointing at her chest, she said "look, boobies!"

And of course the potty talk continues. Tonight she said "Bless you! I just farted out my butt!"

I'm hesitant to admit this one because it shows how crude we can be (go ahead, roll your eyes), but it was seriously hilarious(ly wrong). Lorelai started saying "sack and crack" over and over again after overhearing the boys, who were repeating after Adam. #parentingfail

She also says sunscream and bathing soup and it's too cute to correct, so now that's what we say, too.

And this is one of my favorite exchanges, which happened in Old Navy when Lorelai started throwing a tantrum and was on the floor taking her shoes off.

Mommy: Lorelai, get up. You're being rude.
Lorelai: Complicated order.

Apparently we quote the infamous Bon Qui Qui a bit too often. :)

Since she said this a few months ago, it has somehow morphed into "complicated Lola" which she says regularly and completely randomly now. Love it.

Side note: I'm STILL working on the beach pictures little by little. One of these days I'll post them...

Conversations with Lorelai

Another round of Lorelai-isms to share, and as always, I'm mad that I can't remember every single one of the many funny things she says.

 photo March2013-070_BW_zpsd1de80ab.jpg
Her forehead is looking better, but she's still got a noticeable mark. I'm getting worried it's going to scar forever...

Lorelai: Mommy, I want to say something: DUKE.
Mommy: Duke what? (Of course in my head I was saying "sucks")
Lorelai: Duke. (That was so totally random. At least she didn't say 'Go Duke'--a travesty in this Tarheel-lovin' family!)

Lorelai (listening to a song on Pandora during dinner one night): Daddy, do you like this song? (She was very intent and serious as she was asking)
Daddy: Yep, do you?
Lorelai: I do! (starts jammin')

 photo March2013_LorelaiBath_zps15adf5e2.jpg

Aidan: Ewww Lorelai, did you fart?!
Lorelai: No, I burped.
Mommy: That was out of your mouth?
Lorelai: Nope. Hahaha!

Lorelai: (In a high-pitched voice) Aw, no fair, I didn't get chips! (while she shrugged her hands.)
Aidan, in response: She's so cute.

 photo March2013-096_BWpsd_zpsbfbda73a.jpg

Lorelai: Mommy, I need chapped lips (she meant ChapStick)

Lorelai: Mommy, I've had SO many birthdays!
Mommy: Oh yeah? How many?
Lorelai: (holding out some fingers) 2 3 4 7 birthdays!

 photo March2013_lorelaiBath_triptych_zps434bca64.jpg

She just slays me. So much personality. I love this phase where she's vocal and has legit, hilarious grown-up(ish) conversations. She's still a good mix of sweet and sassy, and the sassy is mostly still cute (though I know my days are numbered there...yikes).

 I often wish I could stop time, or bottle up her innocence and cuteness to keep forever.

{Lorelai-isms} "Don't see my business"

It's been way too long since my last post of Lorelai-isms and I've got a stockpile (plus some I never wrote down and have probably forgotten, bummer).

 photo February2013-008_copy_zps7e73bf0c.jpg

Here she is, eating her "danilla logurt like Aidan."

{alazycrazylife}

She came up with her own nick name for Logan: "Logan-Lou."

{alazycrazylife}

One day at school, she took her teacher's face in her hands to study it and said "Kim, you have boogers" (which wasn't actually true)! She said it to Grandma the other day, too.

She calls me Miss Mommy all the time even though she just calls her teachers by their first name. At home, she'll also call her them "my Donna" and "my Kim."

Randomly at dinner, she said "oh my golly, I'm gonna cry" and then she did a fake whimper. She's the queen of the fake pout lately, too.

{alazycrazylife}

And then there are a whole bunch of potty-related ones:

In an effort to encourage privacy (mostly for myself), I told her I needed the bathroom door closed so no one sees my business (you can see directly into our powder room from our front door). Now she says "don't see my business" all the time, and uses "business" interchangeably with "privates."

And with boys in the house, there are lots of questions about privates: "Daddy, you have a wiener?" "I don't have a wiener." "The boys have a wiener." "Mommy,  you have a business, not a wiener?"

She says "my butt's hanging out" whenever she gets a wedgie or her pants/undies are too low.

{alazycrazylife}

She also likes to run around naked and stick her butt in the air (yikes). When our elf was in her room, she turned around and stuck out her butt towards him and said "see my bottom, Jack?" Then she got some sense and turned back around to cover up and said "don't see my butt! No!"

I accidentally hit the switch for the bathroom fan and Lorelai said "no, don't turn on the stinky!"

{alazycrazylife}

Man, it's a shame this girl doesn't have any personality! :)

My kids crack me up

Time for another installment of Lorelai-isms, because this chick continues to crack us up on the regular.

Photobucket

So one day, Adam was getting dressed for work and chose some jeans (not what Lorelai is used to seeing him wear). She yelled at him saying "mommy's jeans!!" and flopped to the ground in a meltdown until he picked a different pair. (To her credit, we both have a pair of MEKs that look similar. Twinsies!)

She also yelled at him when she thought he was using my loofah in the shower. Ha!

Photobucket

She loves to get baby wipes for her baby doll, Emmy, and pull the legs back to wipe her bottom. She's very thorough. If only she could be that thorough on herself after she pees (and not use that same wipe on her face. Yeah, that happened.)

In a conversation with Adam, I said "You're my hubby!" Lorelai heard and repeated "you're my happy?" Sounds about perfect to me :)

Photobucket

Make no mistake, this girl is heavy! And I let her know it when I pick her up or have to carry her for a long time. She's started to imitate me, complete with sound effects, saying "Ergh, Emmy's so heavy" when she carries her doll and "Ergh, Lorelai's so heavy, Mommy?" when I pick her up.

And she makes this "Ooooh" face all the time. I just want to eat her up.

Photobucket

Lorelai apparently doesn't like the "p" sound, so she says things like "Fillow fet" and "i-Fad." She also says "Cinder Bella" instead of Cinderella. I don't correct her, it's just too freakin' cute.

She also refers to herself in the third person. She'll say "that's a picture of my Lorelai" or "need a tissue for my Lorelai" or "need a band aid for my Lorelai." (Yes, she's still obsessed with band aids.)

Photobucket

Lorelai isn't the only one saying the darnedest things. After Logan got his really long double-sided Darth Maul light saber to go with his Halloween costume, he was playing with it and said "it's really hard to play with this thing without hitting yourself in the nuts."

Photobucket

Logan has also started saying "oh em gee" or just "oh em...". Not sure where he got that from, I really don't think I say OMG out loud like that (or maybe I do? Oops.)

Photobucket

Aidan also cracks me up sometimes with the funny things he says. But lately, it's the tone of voice he's been using--sounding just like a snarky teen. On multiple occasions, I've heard him snark to Logan, "seriously, Logan? Seriously?! Did you really just ___??" Don't worry, I try not to let him see me laugh because I don't really encourage that kind of talk--it's only funny now when it's not directed at me or Adam. :)

Photobucket

And thanks to at least one kid in his class (which is a story for another post, probably), Aidan is now very aware of curse words. I had music on during dinner one night and Aidan leaned over to me and whispered, "Mommy. They just said the h word." Oy. His poor innocence. But the way he whispered it so seriously to me so his brother and sister wouldn't hear was really funny.

Photobucket

Kids are just so funny. So glad I've got a few of my own for some good laughs. :)

Lorelai lately

Lorelai has developed such a personality lately along with her burgeoning vocabulary. She says and does so many hilarious things--I need to start documenting all of these "Lorelai-isms" so I don't forget!

{alazycrazylife}
She and Logan were making funny faces at each other.

A lot of her funny things lately have been potty-related.

One day, Lorelai followed Adam into the bathroom and watched him pee. He said she got a funny look on her face and screamed "ewwww, Daddy!! EWWWWW!" Another time, she yelled at him to "sit down, Daddy!"

One the other hand, she claps for me when I go potty. "Yay! Mommy go pee pee!" What's less endearing is the fact that she demands that I go potty when she does (her portable potty is in our bathroom).

Last night, she made me bring her portable potty downstairs to the half bath (she refuses to sit on the big potty, ugh!) and once I got her diaper off, she closed the door on me and said "privacy, Mommy. Privacy."

(PS: She get's an A for effort and goes potty regularly at school, but she's still not quite out of diapers yet. Daycare wants us to send her in pull ups because it's easier for them, but I'm leaning towards trying a potty weekend at home soon to see if we can move her straight to underwear. Pull ups are freaking expensive.)

{alazycrazylife}

While the boys are on break from school, Adam has been taking Lorelai to daycare in the mornings, which means she watches him get dressed for work. She keeps pointing to him in his boxers and saying "what's that, Daddy?"

Whenever I ask her what she wants for dinner, she almost always says pizza. So last Monday when I asked "do you want pizza for dinner tonight?", she said "no, Friday."

September2012-026

If I put on a necklace in the morning, she wants one, too. I have one I let her wear, but we have to leave it in the car when we drop her off at daycare. She likes to bring her doll in the car, so she insists that her doll wears the necklace while she's at daycare.

{alazycrazylife}

She also likes to wear silly bands around her ankles and always finds someone else's shoes to wear around the house.

She LOVES her boys and always greets them with a big smile and an excited "Hi Aidan! Hi Logan!" But she also loves to "help" me discipline them. It's hilarious to hear her talk sternly to them. She's got this way of yelling where she turns one word into two, so she'll say "NO AI-DAN!" or "LO-GAN! Go to TIME-OUT!"

{alazycrazylife}

She's got this mosquito bite on her arm that won't heal because she keeps picking at it. I started putting band aids over it, and now she always asks for one. "I have a boo boo, Mommy. Need a band aid."

She's also taken possession of this duck, against Aidan's will. She's been carrying it everywhere, and when I tell her it's his, she says "Aidan's duck? It's mine."

{alazycrazylife}

And finally, someone needs to get out of the habit of lifting up her shirt or skirt in public. :)

{alazycrazylife}

Just in case it wasn't clear, I love this girl. So much.
